YouTube Dropdown Menus Hurt Buzzworthy Vids?

I didn’t think much about YouTube’s recent cosmetic tweaks until I saw this. Nate “Blunty3000″ Burr points out how the switch to dropdown menus negatively impacts the top rated and most discussed videos. Since YouTube is first and foremost a community, videos that generate lots of buzz really shouldn’t get buried merely for aesthetic reasons.

Blunty also laments the loss of YouTube’s “games and gadgets” category — very ill-timed considering the rise of machinima.
