TorrentSpy Ditches US Over Stupid Court Ruling

It’s amazing how you can make total fools of the Motion Picture Association of America simply by reminding them that the global market is bigger than America. After a US court orders torrent search engine TorrentSpy to violate their users’ privacy and hand over user data for a silly MPAA fishing expedition, TorrentSpy simply cuts off the US. Clearly, to TorrentSpy, serving US users isn’t worth violating their privacy.
I’m betting TorrentSpy doesn’t need the US to survive. I know many, many online services that thrive in markets outside the US. Meanwhile, since I’m outside the US, I still enjoy perfectly legal torrent search through TorrentSpy. You Americans should join your new Pirate Party, defend fair use, and get rid of your silly MPAA.
