Casio Introduces YouTube Digital Camera

by Mike Abundo on July 13th, 2007

Casio Exilim EX-S77

You know a service is huge when hardware is built for it. First the iPhone features a dedicated YouTube player, and now Casio introduces a digital camera optimized for YouTube.

Fans of Casio’s super-slim Exilim cameras can now post their embarrassing videos straight to YouTube, thanks to the new EX-S880 and EX-S77. Both cams come with a special YouTube capture mode that makes it a cinch to upload your videos by automatically saving them at 640 x 480 resolution and H.264 format.

Camera-wise, the S880 features 8.1 megapixels and has a special burst shot mode that captures 4 frames per second at 2MP. The S77 is no slouch either, with 7.2MP and a faster 5 frames per second at 2MP capture mode. Electronista is reporting that both cameras will be out in August for $300 and $230, respectively.

As if embarrassing yourself on YouTube wasn’t easy enough, the new Exilim cameras make it dead simple. They come with a dock and uploader software that remembers your YouTube account details. YouTube fame literally becomes just one button press away.

All we need now is a Google phone, and all our gadgets will belong to Google.
