Online Video Ad Sales to Hit $560M in 2008
Online ad revenues are at record highs, and online video ad revenues are soaring with them.
Online video ad sales will grow 55.5% to $365.5 million during 2007, and another 53.2% to reach $560 million in 2008, according to a forecast this week from Magna Global’s Brian Wieser, senior vice president-director of industry analysis.
That may not seem like a huge slice of the $4.9 billion spent on online advertising just in the first quarter of 2007, but consider this: while online ad revenues are growing 26% per year, online video ad revenues are growing 55.5% per year. With various video-sharing sites racing to contextualize video ads and expand ad partnerships, expect that growth to only accelerate in the next few years. If you’re not inside online video, you’re not in the money.
