Hurley: Big Media Should Partner with YouTube
In an article for Forbes, YouTube CEO Chad Hurley translates for suits what bloggers have known all along: YouTube is a friend, not a foe.
We believe, and our current content partners agree, that we can help these companies evolve, build their audience and establish new revenue streams, enabling us to enjoy a symbiotic relationship. We are thrilled that so many forward-thinking media companies and content creators have already partnered with us, and we expect these partnerships to be an important part of our growth in the years to come.
If YouTube’s head of advertising sales is correct, YouTube’s revenues will rival those of TV networks in four years. Why not dip into their huge pie while baking your own?

Just as soon as they figure out how to share their advertising revenues with ALL the companies/individuals who are contributing content. Right now it’s only the big dogs who get a piece of the pie.

If anyone can figure that out, it’s Google. They did it for text and image content with AdSense.

[…] Oh, Chad’s chosen his words carefully, Viacom. Perhaps you should have done the same. […]
